THE SLOE GIN FIZZ
ESTRIE ROCKABILLY VIBE!
With unparalleled rock'n'roll, these country folk from Estrie revive the great hits of the King and other hip-swaying anthems in a hubbub orchestrated with fire, brass and nickel... In homage to the orchestras of the swing era, no less than 7 musicians and a stuntman make up the Sloe Gin Fizz group: saxophone, trombone and trumpet support the guitar chords, during this musical brawl so epic that even Batman joins in. For low frequencies, they rock the floor with an arsenal of exceptional double basses that cross styles and eras. We all remember their songs, which wore out the ears of young and old in other times. Country, Swing, Blues and Rockabilly have no secrets for anyone and yet, the explosive interpretation of them by the Sloe Gin Fizz is worthy of the urgency of the twenty-first century.
BIOGRAPHY
The Sloe Gin Fizz orchestra was born in Estrie in 2010, when two brothers from a family steeped in 1950s culture left their respective musical projects to embark on a larger adventure. These two founding members, Marcus Welby and El Domino, had a common vision of a band that would mix Rock & Roll, Country and Rockabilly, and which would present the most festive and theatrical show in Quebec. A show presenting the great hits of Elvis Presley and the Golden Age of Rock & Roll, with modern and overflowing energy, with impeccable choreography and aesthetics.
To realize this vision, various musicians joined them, all from Estrie and passionate about rockabilly and the 1950s. The group includes double bassist, drummer, guitarists, singers, as well as a brass section and a skateboard player. wash. Each member of the big band has a solid musical background and/or university musical training completed at the University of Sherbrooke. The members of Sloe Gin Fizz are completely passionate and involved in their musical style, to the point where Rock & Roll is a real way of life for them. Whether it's having Mid-Century apartments or houses, driving cars from the 50s, wearing vintage clothing on a daily basis and traveling to develop their knowledge of this passion.
For more than 10 years, the Sloe Gin Fizz have traveled the roads of Quebec, in bars, concert halls, hotels, corporate events, weddings, parties and dance competitions, vintage car exhibitions and festivals of all kinds. Each event was a success, regardless of the age of the audience. The Estrie band has also been invited to the most popular and renowned rockabilly festivals in Canada and the United States such as Red Hot and Blue, JiveFest, the Perfecto festival, Kildare Deluxe, the Rigaud Rockabilly Rumble and Viva Las Vegas in the United States.
